Virus is underground Hip-Hop artist from Phoenix, AZ. From freestyle battle rap and making mixtapes, to recording albums and performing on stage, nearly three decades of experience have resulted in a unique style of production that has yet to be realized. With the addition of the VIRAL BEATS YouTube channel, there are several instrumental albums and sample packs to add to that list.
At the age of thirteen, Virus wrote his first rap and began to make mixtapes with a karaoke machine. House party freestyle sessions and battle rap became a regular routine in high school, where Virus began to develop as an MC. After dropping out, Virus met the Phun Phamily. Every weekend there were raves and house parties, where he would emcee for hours at a time to Drum & Bass, Jungle, and Hip-Hop. After making a few mixtapes, Virus produced a CD (under the name Mr. Mask) using the MTV Music Generator, giving out 200 copies for free.
This is when the transition was made to Fruityloops (FL Studio) and Virus began to work on a studio release. Virus then teamed up with DMS and MCT to work on The Collective (2002) recorded at Gray Room Recording Studio. After its release, the Professor Virus (2003) album was completed and sold 1,000 CD's on the streets, within a couple of months. After a few years, The American Dream (2005) was released. Virus Music was established (2006) and Virus built his first retail shop; Possibilities Are Endless Distribution (PAED). Upon returning from the Gathering of the Juggalos, Virus sold his interests in PAED and released the "Area Code" single (2006) which also included "Wake up Call" and a few other bonus tracks. This was the first collaborative effort between Virus & Intrinzik, shortly before the pair went on tour (Bad Mental Health). Virus began to attend Glendale Community College for a degree in Audio Production Technologies, and opened up for Tech N9ne a few months later.
Breaking records for ticket sales resulted in a regular routine of performing, opening for acts such as Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs n Harmony, and Andre Nickatina, while regularly opening for Strange Music (Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko) and Psychopathic Records (Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid) artists...even performing at SXSW and Hatchet Attacks in Denver, CO. While attending college, Intrinzik's Resurre6t7on featured 3 songs with Virus, and Developed Species (2009) was released. It was during this time that Virus began to work as an audio engineer at the recording studio (Twilight Elite) and weekends at a local club (The G Spot). After the club closed, Virus began to work at Pyramix Studios. He and the studio owner opened The Axe, LLC, at the same location as The G Spot. A few months into operation, it was discovered that the building was not up to code, and needed to be demolished. Virus then performed on the Second Stage at the 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos.
Returning to Arizona, Virus dissolved his business partnership and performed a couple more shows before also severing ties with Intrinzik. Two years later, VIRAL BEATS was established (2012) and began to retain clients for the recording studio. Virus then relocated to the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) and established M-Graphics (2014). After 11 years between releases, Genetic Mutation (2020) was finally complete. Instead of promoting this album, VIRAL BEATS began producing the next Virus album (PHUN) and started to post regular content on the YouTube channel. The "Apple Pie" single (2021) was released, and it was on this platform that Virus met Bam Vox and Sir Chxmp, who collaborated on the "Tell it to the Mountain" single (2022). After 2 years on YouTube, VIRAL BEATS released 5 instrumental albums (2023) and produced 2 studio albums. Virus currently operates the VIRAL BEATS YouTube channel while producing a Hip-Hop (Hip-Hop Un-Dead) album for the 50th Anniversary.
